About our Presenters:

Bill Birnes,

Bill Birnes is a New York Times best-selling author, a magazine publisher, and a New York literary publishing agent who has written and edited over twenty-five books and encyclopedias in the fields of human behavior, true crime, current affairs, history, psychology, business, computing, and the paranormal. As publisher of the nationally distributed UFO Magazine, editor of The UFO Encyclopedia published by Pocket Books, and co-author, with the nation’s top radio talk-show host, George Noory, of A Worker In The Light, Dr. Birnes has added to his list of publications in the UFO/Paranormal field, which include: The Day After Roswell, Unsolved UFO Mysteries, and The Haunting of the Presidents. He starred in UFO Hunters (2008–2009) as leader of an investigative team of fellow UFO-logists, and later wrote a book by the same name documenting his experiences on the show. He is a frequent guest on the History channels “Ancient Aliens.” Birnes received his Ph.D. from New York University in 1974 while he was an Instructor of English at Trenton State College in New Jersey where he taught structural linguistics and historical linguistics as well as literature and writing. Professor Birnes was a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow, a Lily Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, and a grants award judge for the National Endowment for the Arts. James Krug, - Jim Krug has served as the Planetarium Director of the Neil Armstrong Planetarium in Altoona, PA since 2003. A high school Astronomy teacher, Jim co-founded the Space Race Museum in the Planetarium's lobby in 2016, and founded the Mt. Lion Observatory at Fort Roberdeau Historic Site in 2018. Jim hosts public and private sky shows throughout the year, and teaches a 9-week adult evening course with topics ranging from conspiracies to UFOs to the Apollo missions to night sky study every winter. Jim is a State Section Director for MUFON PA, and has presented at three statewide conferences to date. Additionally, Jim co-hosts the "Majestic Ears Only" podcast with fellow MUFON Field Investigator Jason Geis and teaching colleague Brock Seese. James has a number of fascinating presentations on Space, Nasa, Moon walks and astronomy. He will share with us shortly his presentation description.

Robert Spearing, - Sometime between 1 and 2 February 1959, a group of Russian skiers in the Ural Mountains met gruesome deaths under bizarre circumstances. After 60 years the Russian Government has released its final report attributing their deaths to an avalanche. Why this accounting of episode is lacking will be discussed.

Bob Spearing is MUFON's Director of Investigations International. He graduated Fordham University with Bachelors of Arts Degrees in Film Making and Journalism. He has been a MUFON Field Investigator since 2014.

The Tra

vis Walton UFO incident is one of the most famous alien abduction and UFO encounters in history. Travis Walton and 7 other loggers were working as American forestry workers on November 5, 1975. While he was working in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests near Snowflake, Arizona, Walton and his six fellow loggers encounter a large disc shaped object in the forest. Walton who gets quite close to the craft out of curiosity, is struck by a beam and knocked unconscious. Next Walton went missing for five days and six hours, when his friends drove away in fear. [1] After days of searching with scent dogs and helicopters, Walton reappeared by the side of a road near Heber, Arizona.[2][3] The Walton case received mainstream publicity and remains one of the best-known alien abduction stories in history with evidence that continues to mount in support of the relevance and importance of this case.
